24 Hours To Go!

There are 2 types of adventurers.

Those that seek adventure.

And those that don't.

Me and my old mate, Big Col, are about to set off on our trip of a lifetime.  Yes, I know that the world has got smaller, what with modern travel capabilities and technology, but it's still the trip of our lifetime.

We're driving (well, I'm driving, Big Col is navigating) from Washington DC to San Francisco.  Round about 3200 miles the way we think we're heading.

We don't have many rules for our trip.  But the ones that we do have, are as follows:

We've only booked accommodation in Washington DC and San Francisco.  The middle bit is a huge, blank canvas.

We have to drive something American. We've booked an 'exotic/star car' in Washington, so we'll wait and see what it turns out to be...

We have to have at least one night camping in bear country.

Oh - and we have to make it to San Francisco in time to catch our plane home.

But that's ages away.  A full continent away.  So, come along on our journey with us on this blog.  We'll try and update it daily depending on our connectivity.

Come with us along Highway 50!  We'll travel through cities - Washington, Cincinatti, St Louis, Kansas... we have a mission to visit Dodge City- we'll cross the Appalachians, the rolling plains, the Rockies, we'll explore Yosemite with our bear-proof locker... And we'll take on The Loneliest Road in America.

Next stop.... Washington DC.

See you there!
